birdsong

Birdsong is the name of this dress, and I think it's perfect for Spring! This is from Coast, who have some lovely dresses in their bridesmaid collection.

pretty ballerina

If like me you aren't a big fan of heels and are worried about tripping up whilst walking down the aisle, then perhaps you may want to opt for a flat classic ballerina pump and you can't beat French Sole's wedding collection. They have many plain and decorative styles in ivory and white and with a pair like the Harriet style you'll be able to dance the night away with ease. They also do many other sytles that might be suitable for bridesmaids if they are looking for a comfortable flat shoe and I think would look perfect matched with prom style dresses.

itsy bitsy etsy

I have to own up, Etsy was a fairly new find for me and although I'm sure many people know about it, I feel I have to spread the word - just in case. It is US based, and it's a kind of ebay (without the bidding) for beautiful handmade items such as wedding invitations, garters, cake toppers and hair accessories. If you like one-off individual items then it's worth looking on here, and there are just so many different gorgeous offerings it's one worth checking regularly.

message on a tree

Instead of a traditional guest-book this is an enchanting idea. If you have a large flower/plant arrangement somewhere central at your wedding reception, turn it into a message tree. Provide each table setting for your guests with a small tag attached to a piece of ribbon for them to write a little message on. They can then hang each one onto the arrangement to create a message tree! Try and then take this home with you, so you have all the messages on the tree as well as a part of the wedding take home.

the knives are out

Add a nice touch to the cutting of the cake, with this CAKE knife from Rockett St George.

i want candy

If you are looking for colour-theme inspiration, check out Amy Atlas Events from the US. They do the most delectable looking spreads in all colours of the rainbow and their presentation is A-mazing. It's only 10am and after looking at the gallery, I want candy...

thumbs up

Now I would love to be able to claim this idea as my own, however sadly this one was mentioned by my colleague at work. You and your H2B (husband to be) can print your fingerprints out in a shape that forms a heart. These could then be simply put on the front of your save the date/invites. Personal, cute and simple. Awwww.

good will bunting

If you are looking for a bit of bunting to throw here and there at your reception for a great british summer wedding then Not On The Highstreet has got to be the best place for choice. They have everything from tartan, flowery, gingham, union jacks and letters.

fascinating stuff

These are gorgeous fascinators from By Harriet. Aren't they stunning? Loving the girly details with bows, feathers and peonies and the giant corsage Petal style is just so chic. I'm fairly obsessed with the whole net veil look at the moment, so teamed with a 50's style prom dress... et voila.

food for thought

If you live in London and haven't come across the delights of Ottolenghi then I suggest you head down there quick sharpish. A delightful deli whose shops are like stepping into food heaven. From salads to cakes their food is truly inspiring and the way they present it all is just so beautiful. Head down there for inspiration if you are struggling with your menu, and also to see how they turn a salad into a work of art! They do also offer catering, so why not have a chat with them about your big day. Luckily for me I live within a stone's throw of the Islington branch.

i heart photo

Awww, cute idea as seen on flickr. Probably need to be pretty high up to achieve a good aerial look (as these guys did), but ideal if there's a balcony that the photographer could work from. Word of advice - in order to direct your guests it may help if they are of the more sober variety!

it's a wrap

Sticking with the laser cut theme, here are some more examples...! These cupcake wrappers can be created with a design to go with the theme of your wedding from snowflakes to hearts to rubber ducks (but I think that's quite unlikely). These images are from Paper Orchid in the US, however Lindy's Cakes in the UK do something similar.

laser beam

I came across this idea of laser cut invitations as someone at work had some lovely paper samples on their desk (thanks Tracy!) and I thought that they would make such elegant and delicate invitations. By using a bespoke service, you can achieve the look you want, whether it's butterfly's, twisting flower vines or even a stain glass window effect, Chartula can do this for you.

my my macaroon

It's official. I'm obsessed. My mother introduced these to me (she came across them in Le Paris of course) and I consider myself very lucky to be living in London so I can get my hands on them. This is Laudree - the home of the humble macaroon. So why the obsession with them? Well, they are small round cakes, crisp on the outside, smooth and soft in the middle. They come in a myriad of flavours including rose, pisatachio, mango, chocolate and limited edition seasonal ones too. As they come in a rainbow of colours, presentation wise they'll fit any colour theme. They also come in divine packaging so would make for perfect favours. Or, perhaps you could try stacking them for a macaroon tower. Just a word of warning to my friends - don't do this at your wedding as I will eat the whole lot.

oops a daisy

How cute are these? Adorable for a spring wedding, or for a yellow/white theme, these daisy favour boxes just need filling with treats of your choice.

numbers up

A simple and rustic idea for table numbers. Transfer printed numbers (in a lovely font) onto pieces of balsa wood. These guys gathered pieces of branch wood themselves (best things in life can be free!) which were then cut into to hold the balsa wood. Great for a eco/natural theme wedding. This is taken from a blog in the US - Brooklyn Bride

pop pop

These pop-up cards are new in at Muji for Valentines Day. Nice idea for an invite, especially if you are planning on having Roses or Gerberas as your flowers.

snappy snaps

How much fun is this! You can hire a photobooth from Boothnation to have at your wedding reception. If you perhaps aren't hiring a photographer for the whole day, but want to have photos of all your guests then this has got to be the best way to do it. People will love going in there (or cramming in there!) to have fun within the booth. Oh how it brings back memories of going into town on a Saturday and getting these photos done with your mates, or of course a quick snog in there with your latest boyfriend of the time. Best thing about this? Totally natural pictures showing your guests in their element. Even better, invite them to bring a prop to represent them, and get them to wear it in the booth! Everyone can then view or purchase the images online.

it's a sign

Having a cosy church wedding in the middle of nowhere? Sounds lovely, but if you are worried that your cute little village church is tucked away down a picturesque country lane, then your guests may well need more than sat-nav to find it. This vintage style 'wedding' sign does exactly what it says. And if your friends are anything like mine then this might just be a necessity.

perfume perfection

Prada's Infustion D'iris is one of my favourite perfumes (at the moment, I am known to be quite fickle on the perfume front). But more to the point, it's handy purse sized silver re-fillable case is just so cool and perfect to carry on your big day. I casually left it out on my desk at work and had lots of comments on it, so not only will you smell nice when you top up your spritz, you'll look so cool doing it.

feeling lucky

Hello Lucky are a company who create beautiful digital and letterpress wedding invites, rsvp's and save the dates. Letterpressing is quite an expensive printing method but gives the most beautiful hand-crafted designs. Hello Lucky have designs ready to buy, or you can ask them to design an invite or save the date for you.
